IT Desktop System Upgrade Staved Off

Cabinet Office minister Tom Watson announced its plan to to upgrade IT desktop system will be put off. The reason behind the delay was not disclosed; however, most speculations point it to the worldwide financial crisis. 
 

"The system is currently in its pilot stage which has been extended until functionality and performance have been proven," Watson explained. 

 

The Cabinet Office has pioneered eight IT projects designed to enhance its own system. Out of this eight, five were delivered as scheduled and two projects were postponed for one month. The last proposed IT scheme is currently set back.
