Indirect Buying Only for Acer's Gateway
Indirect Buying Only for Acer's Gateway
Gateway PC can't be bought from Gateway anymore. The PC brand, now wholly-owned by subsidiary of Acer Inc., is moving its distribution to center on retailers, e-tailers, and channel partners. This new strategy for a completely channel-focused model will streamline Gateway's business and deliver highly significant cost savings. This would undoubtedly result in an improved value proposition for customers. Gateway was founded in Sioux City, Iowa by Ted Waitt in 1985.
The company ran into financial trouble when the dot-com boom began to collapse and went through a series of executive departures and other changes.
According to Acer, Gateway products are available through retailers and e-tailers which includes Best Buy, Circuit City, CompUSA, Costco, HSN, Newegg, Tiger Direct, Office Depot, OfficeMax, and Wal-Mart.
