Google Omits Comprehensive Bluetooth API from Android 1.0
Google decided to drop Bluetooth and GTalkService APIs from the initial version of Android 1.0. However, the company verified that handsets using Android will still work with other Bluetooth devices. Some developers who have been planning to create applications that utilize Bluetooth for the Android O.S. were appalled by the news and expressed their opinion on the Google Android Forum. They are still hoping that the next software development kit update for Android will feature basic Bluetooth support. Android 1.0 is slated to be released sometime in September, with a final release before the end of 2008.
