Ebay Creates Bespoke Version of Internet Explorer 8

Ebay has recently launched a bespoke version of Internet Explorer 8 available to all Ebay bidders except those residing in the UK.  The bespoke browser will not be available in ebay.co.uk, although the company guarantees the feature will be offered in the UK next week.


The modified version sports three Ebay features.  One is the visual search which displays images and lists of items sold on the auction site.  Another new offering is the Ebay accelerator which enables users to select web texts and immediately find auctioned items.  The last one is dubbed as the Ebay Webslice.  It allows users to watch ongoing auctions through adding an alert to the Favorites bar.  The tool flashes everytime a new bid is raised, and refreshes every 15 minutes.
