Demand for DDR3 Memory Spikes, Intel A Contributing Factor
According to Samsung Electronics, Intel’s release of a new range of processors helped the sudden boost in DDR3 DRAM chips. Intel is reported to have increased manufacturing of DDR memory last month to cater overflowing demands associated with its launch of Xeon processor 5500 series.DDR3 memory chips are more enhanced compared to DDR2, highlighting a much faster performance of up to 1,333Mbps and a power saving capability of at least 60 percent.
Intel is set to introduce two other DDR memory chip series by the end of the second quarter this year.
