Computer Sales Advance Unexpectedly

IDG has reported a major jump in sales of PC desktops and laptops, which some analysts consider as an unexpected turn. 
 

Majority of the boost was attributed to the impending release of Microsoft's new operating system Windows 7, Gartner previouslypredicted a drop in PC sales this year.  

 

The software company has offered a pre-sale marketing campaign allowing existing users to uprade at no cost. Gartner further said that the Windows 7 release could prove beneficial to the market. Nevertheless, the effects could be short lived as it might lack the potency of earlier Windows version.  Windows 7 will be officially released on October this year.
