Brits Still Worried About Security of Chip and PIN

A research from Secure POS Vendor Alliance (SPVA) revealed that majority of British consumers have concerns over chip and PIN security.

The study showed that most shoppers worry about card vendors and retailers securing their data. More people prefer making purchases using their debit cards rather than paying them cash or through credit cards. SPVA also found that users were not satisfied with online payment methods such as Paypal.

With today's increasing number of fraud crimes and data breaches, retailers need to focus on how consumers could rely on the security of chip and PIN, said SPVA. Other reasons cited why shoppers lack confidence over chip and PIN transactions are shop assistant conduct and the time spent for every transaction.
