Asustek is reported to have plans of introducing a mini-notebook on 2009. The company has not disclosed further details regarding the move, but  Samsun Hu, general manager of Asustek's Eee PC business, revealed that they will be presenting the new product at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January.
In addition, the new models of the Eee PC will sport an Intel dual-core Atom processor, as soon as appropriate versions of the chips are made available.

The ASUS Eee PC is a mini-notebook with a light weight, Linux-based operating system, solid-state drive and reasonably low price. The computer is commonly used for on the road e-mail and web surfing.
