Apple Could Be The Next Twitter Bidder
Apple Could Be The Next Twitter Bidder
Rumor has it that Apple could be interested in Twitter buyout. If this rings true, Apple could shell out $700 million for the buyout offer.Twitter has gained massive popularity since it was built in 2006. Big industry names sought to acquire the micro-blogging site but all failed their bid.
According to analyst Dan Olds, Apple and Twitter would make a fairly good combination if the buyout will be pushed through.
"Apple has the right 'attitude' to run something like Twitter, plus the ability to monetize it with advertising. I can see where Twitter might fit quite nicely into the Apple empire. It would give Apple a strong entry into the social networking market and also a very solid advertising vehicle."
Gawker.com's sources said Apple is in "serious negotiations" with Twitter. Reportedly, Apple is aiming for a quick arrangement so everything will be finalized by June 8, during Apple's yearly Worldwide Developers Conference.
