Amazon Swamped with Windows 7 Pre-Orders
Despite analyst predictions that Windows 7 will just be another Vista failure, Microsoft proved it all wrong.According to Amazon report, thousands of users have already pre-ordered Windows 7, showing signs that the new OS will do good once it hits the shelves by October. Amazon revealed that most of the orders were made from its UK sites.
Amazon UK software director Chris Poad said, "Both Windows 7 upgrade packages shot to the top of the Amazon.com software bestseller chart in the US as soon as they were made available for pre-order at the end of June."
"With the significant discount currently on offer, a similar level of high demand was expected in the UK for what is undoubtedly the biggest software release for many years," Poad added.
Amazon will be releasing the pre-ordered OS on October 22 of this year. The Professional edition can be bought at £89.97, while the Home Premium edition costs £44.97.
