Adobe to Debut Flash Media Encoding Server
Adobe Systems will be offering its Adobe Flash Media Encoding Server later this year. The software is designed to move video content to Adobe's flash format.Furthermore, the software will enable users of Windows Media and other formats to convert files to Adobe platform. This feature is deemed to be benificial as Adobe takes on Microsoft's Silverlight browser plug-in technology in the rich Internet application domain.
The encoding server will be employed on a Windows system which makes it compatible with Flash Media Server or a Web server. It is slated for commercial release later this year and will be priced at $6,000.
