Adobe recently announced it is probing on a critical vulnerability targeting its PDF Reader. According to a security analyst, the flaw is one of the long list of vulnerabilities resulting to Adobe’s employment of Javascript.

SecurityFocus first uncovered the vuln on Monday, pointing the most updated version of Reader as the most probable target.  Reader 9.1, Reader 8.1.4, and Linux versions are vulnerable, among other platforms. Adobe’s Reader for Windows and Mac could also be part of the exploit.

Adobe said in a statement, "Adobe is aware of reports of a potential vulnerability in Adobe Reader 9.1 and 8.1.4," said David Lenoe, the company's security program manager. We are currently investigating, and will have an update once we get more information."

The company did not provide further details about the bug, however more information was guaranteed to be posted on its security advisory page.
