Adobe Plans "Genesis" Mashup Pilot Program
Adobe Systems is setting up a pilot program for its Genesis mashup on October. The pilot will provide desktop client integrating multiple tasks in a single workspace.Adobe Genesis allows business users to pull together "workspaces" that combine assets like business application data, documents and analytics, along with collaboration tools such as instant messaging. The app will enable users to download a free desktop-based client, while Adobe will provide a hosted sharing and collaboration infrastructure. Genesis is built with Adobe's Flex technology and deployed on the desktop via Adobe AIR (Adobe Integrated Runtime).
Adobe has not announced a definite date for Genesis' commercial release, but the company plans to allow users to access the client for free as well as subscribe to Adobe's Acrobat.com hosted service to handle collaboration.
