Accenture Plans to Acquire Symbian Professional Services
Accenture is planning to acquire Nokia's Symbian Professional Services, which will provide engineering consulting and product development services. Symbian's operating system is the most popular smartphone platform in the mobile market.With the impending deal, Accenture will take advantage of Symbian's technical support, device tuning techniques, and advanced error diagnosis and repair. It will also improve Accenture's embedded software product development and testing capabilities.
Jean Laurent Poitou at Accenture said, "The capabilities we are acquiring from Nokia will help support the tremendous growth our clients can expect from the explosive adoption of converged mobile multimedia services, and will expand Accenture's role as a key supplier of new tools, products and solutions to clients in this industry."
