Search Engines Sue To Disclose Hidden IP Opponent

Popular search engine companies like Yahoo, IAC, AOL, and Lycos joined Google's quest to reveal the people behind a 2-year-old patent lawsuit against them. The companies aim to push the Software Rights Archive (SRA) to finally diclose who are the perps of the longstanding lawsuit.
SRA is a patent holding company who filed a lawsuit against the search companies for patent infringement in teh Eastern District of Texas. The company argues that the search engines are flouting its patent specified as "Method and Apparatus for Indexing, Search, and Displaying Data," among others.

In July of last year, the search companies filed a countersuit in California seeking a full disclosure on the complainants and claiming that their accusations were invalid. SRA vehemently denied that claim.

Moreover, the search companies allege SRA as well as Altitude Capital Partners of obstructing their request. Altitude Capital Partners is identified as private investment firm who shares the same address with SRA.
