Science and Technology Committee Goes Back to Westminster
The Science and Technology Committee is now back under the wings of the House of Commons, after being stamped out for almost two years. The committee's big comeback is slated on October of this year, soon after the current Innovation, Universities, Skills, and Science Committees (IUSS) are done with their present business.
"Science and technology have a vital role helping the country through the recession, and in achieving a stronger, sustainable economic future," Lord Drayson said pertaining to the committee's impending return.
Several MPs have questioned the government's course on science and technology, claiming its existence in the new Department for Business, Innovation, and Skills (BIS) is inhibiting its very role.
