Netflix Resumes Shipment After Three-Day Hiatus
Leading online DVD rental leader Netflix Inc. is back to normal shipment recovering from a three-day outage. The outage was caused by technical problems which held up shipments affecting 8.4 million subscribers. Netflix is offering a 15 percent credit to customers whose discs were delayed by the outage. Those who were trying out Netflix with its two-week free trial will also have an extension on the trial period.The company has not fully disclosed the cause of the outage that affected 55 shipping centers. Netflix last experienced a major delay with their shipment on March. Their website went down for 11 hours and caused Netflix to halt DVD deliveries for an entire day for the first time. Netflix is well known for proactively informing customers of even the tiniest problems that may affect their service and offering credits for any inconvenience caused by such problems.
