IT Struggles to Fight Mounting Energy Costs

The tech's move to go green apparently isn't enough to ease off todays growing energy costs.  According to the U.S. Department of Energy, energy price will remain soaring over the next 25 years unless businesses will find a way to regulate their energy usage.  If energy depletion will stay in the same trend, then global demand for energy is expected to shoot up to 57 percent while supply will drop off.


A lot of IT shops have already eased their energy use by changing over to Energy Star-rated products. They've started installing more competent hardware, and capitalizing on proficient cooling system. However, these moves are inadequate considering a huge overall reduction will be essential to maintain a profitable company.



IT could initiate conserving energy by not only adopting green-tech, but using the industry's massive knowledge to identify cost savings through diverse ways of doing business.
