Hyundai Raided by German Police
German customs police raided Hyundai IT Corp.s booth at IFA and took away some flat-screen TVs. Norbert Scheithauer, a spokesman for Berlin-area customs investigators, said the electrical devices included 170 television sets, 140 MP3 players and 43 car radios that were being exhibited by manufacturers as well as large quantities of brochures.The raids took place at the opening day of IFA, Europe's biggest expo for new electrical products. A German court had decided that Hyundai and other east Asian and European firms were marketing counterfeit technology and warranted 69 raids comprised of 187 agents and 27 police. Hyundai has not released any official comment regarding the seizure.
