Hitman Scammer Strikes Again
Hitman Scammer Strikes Again
FBI has warned internet users to disregard any email which threatens to kill recipients if they do not pay thousands of dollars to the sender. The emails are said to be from the infamous Hitman email scammer. The scam first loomed in December 2006. Recipients are duped into replying to emails claiming to be from a hired assassin. Hundreds of people fell for the scam, sending criminals tens of thousands of dollars.
People receiving the Hitman emails should not reply as this may only send a signal to the perpetrators that they've reached a live account. It is also best that users should immediately reach their IT support to ensure absolute security in their computer. If such emails are already in their inbox, report them to the Internet Crime Complaint Center.
