YouTube Turns Five
YouTube Turns Five
It seems that it is time for celebration: the most popular Internet site visited by IT services users has turned five. Everyone with IT connectivity can benefit from the features of YouTube. The IT company behind this sharing site is formed by Chad Hurley, Steve Chen and Javed Karim. Creating YouTube was like "creating a place where anyone with a video camera and an internet connection could share a story with the world."One of the first videos posted on the site was filmed by Karim and it was called ‘Me at the zoo’, being posted on 23 April 2005. Chief executive of YouTube, Chad Hurley, said that "The internet evolves at break-neck speed. We launch products quickly and constantly iterate to stay one step ahead of it. Our goal? To set the standard in online video delivery. And whether we're supporting 1080p, 3D, or deploying auto-speech recognition technology, we innovate with an eye toward providing the best possible experience for all of you."
