According to Mikko Hypponen, F-Secure's chief research officer, said criminals frequently post their ads on YouTube, hoping to lure people in buying their products.One ad pitches pilfered credit card numbers that are suspected to be taken from cruise liners, casinos, and hotels, with PINs captured by a hidden camera. Criminals choose YouTube due to its massive audience. Any user can easily upload videos on the site, attracting millions of viewers.
YouTube has been frequently scathed for failing to guaratee that its online contents adhere to copyright laws. The site advises its users to upload original contents before they can add videos. Despite YouTube's attempt to control its users, there are still a lot of unauthorized clips from television shows, films and music videos being uploaded in the site.
