US Broadband Plan Needs Billions

When talking about IT connectivity as a very important IT service, the US Government is not kidding. A new broadband plan has been announced and users will get from their IT services provider an IT service with speeds of 100Mbits/sec internet by 2020. This national plan will need billions of dollars to be rolled out and the US Government is going to invest as much as it is needed for their citizens to get great broadband.

The Government is sure of the fact that this broadband plan will have great effects on business, education, public services and government engagement. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) said that "Broadband is the great infrastructure challenge of our time. Like electricity a century ago, broadband is a foundation for economic growth, job creation, global competitiveness and a better way of life.” The sum that will be invested in this plan reaches 6.5 billion dollars.
