Ofcom Reveals Rise in Broadband Usage

A research from Ofcom showed that broadband take up surged by 10 percent last year despite the upshots brought by recession.

The report further noted that around 250,000 new mobile connections were made in May, a huge increase from the 139,000 connections from that of the same period last year. One contributing factor for the increase is the drop in broadband prices.

Broadband users pay an average of £10.71 per month. Most consumers are also aiming for bundled services to lower their bill. Around 47 percent admitted they are looking to take bundled services now than they were 12 months ago.

Ofcom's report also featured how communications technology expanded across the UK. A very small number of consumers would choose to trim down their mobile phone and broadband spending compared to those who would want to cut back on vacation and holiday budgets.
