Microsoft Subsidiary Loses Personal Data
Microsoft’s subsidiary Sidekick lost personal user information following a service downtime at its provider Danger. The data include Contacts, calendar entries, and photographs.Microsoft has not revealed the amount of data pilfered and the number of users affected by the breach. The company announce all information saved on the users’ devices have been permanently lost.
"That said, our teams continue to work around-the-clock in hopes of discovering some way to recover this information. However, the likelihood of a successful outcome is extremely low." T-Mobile explained.
Both Microsoft and T-Mobile said they would post an update on data recovery attempts.
