IT company Brings Gigabit Broadband to the UK
IT services provider Fibrecity is planning to break the record of broadband speedĀ existing in the UK as IT services users will get access to IT connectivity capable of 1Gbit/sec. The network will use fibre found in Bournemouth's sewer network and speeds offered will be between 25Mbits/sec and 100Mbits/sec. One of the three ISPs that will be using the Fibrecity network, Velocity 1, will offer this kind of broadband speed.So, Velocity1 will provide customers the possibility to download HD movies and other bandwidth-intensive applications with bursts of 1Gbits/sec. The Velocity package with 100Mbits/sec costs 10 pounds per month and another 10 pounds per month for line rental. The other ISPs, Vispa and Fibrebrand, will offer packages with 100Mbits/sec for 50 pounds per month. If customers choose packages with lower speeds have the possibility to get broadband from 20 pounds a month. Fibrecity wants to extend its network to Dundee and Sheffield in the near future.
