Enron Broadband Trial Stalled
Enron Broadband Trial Stalled
The trial of three executives from Enron Broadband has been rescheduled to November and January so they can present their appeal before the U.S Supreme Court. Joseph Hirko, Rex Shelby and Scott Yeager are accused of overstating capabilities of Enron's broadband network to generate Wall Street buzz and earned from selling company stock inflated by the hype.More than three years have passed since the defendants first stood trial and received several acquittals on other counts. In March, they lost their petition to get a 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel to drop all remaining charges against them.
Enron scandal started way back year 2001 in which top executives were exposed to have been involved in irregular accounting procedures conducted throughout the 1990s. Enron filed for bankruptcy on December 2, 2001.
