Drug Dealers Employing The Internet Raided
Drug Dealers Employing The Internet Raided
Suspected internet drug peddlers across nine countries were raided in Interpol's global campaign against illegal drug trafficking. The operation, also known as Pangea, spanned throughout Britain, Germany, Ireland, Israel, New Zealand, Singapore, Switzerland, Canada and the United States.Interpol's initiative implies that the agency's drive against the growing problem of drug peddling is taken seriously and is being carried out on an international level.
An Interpol spokeswoman said, "Our messages are simple - do not buy prescription-only medicines over the Internet without a prescription and if you are illegally selling or supplying medicines, we will use all appropriate measures available to stop you."
Based on the reports of the International Narcotics Board, illegal drug use and drug smuggling are now proliferating at the same rate with the use of unlawfully manufactured heroin, cocaine, amphetamine and opioids in various parts of the world. The internet serves as the easiest medium used by drug traffickers to operate their business due to the lack of national control mechanisms.
