Current Windows Mobile Apps Won't Work on New Phones
Even though IT company Microsoft hasn't said anything about the fact that its IT products - Windows Mobile phones will be or not upgradeable to its new IT service - the new Windows 7 software, the software giant has confirmed the fact that current apps won't be working on the new platform. This happens because of the fact that the IT company has decided to use Silverlight and XNA as development platforms. On Thursday, Charlie Kindel, partner group program manager for the Windows Phone application platform and developer experience at Microsoft, wrote on the Internet in a blog post that "To deliver what developers expect in the developer platform we've had to change how phone apps were written. One result of this is previous Windows mobile applications will not run on Windows Phone 7 Series." In a recent interview, Matt Rosoff, an analyst with Directions on Microsoft said that "Microsoft has always said, 'Learn Silverlight, it's an important development environment for the future.'"
