Chinese Attacks - "a Watershed Moment"
IT security company McAfee thinks that attacks against IT company Google and other 33 companies were a "watershed moment in cybersecurity". Chief technology officer from McAfee, George Kurtz thinks that "this is the largest and most sophisticated cyberattack we have seen in years targeted at specific corporations." All this comes after Microsoft's advice of switching to Internet Explorer 8.The software giant is aware of the fact that Internet Explorer 8 is also vulnerable and still thinks that users should upgrade. What really makes this a watershed moment in cybersecurity is the targeted and coordinated nature of the attack with the main goal appearing to be to steal core intellectual property," said George Kurtz on the firm's "Security Insights" blog yesterday.
